Job Title: Building and Construction Teacher
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a competent and passionate Building and Construction Teacher to join our faculty. The teacher will foster an engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes technical competence, problem-solving, and creativity, while preparing students for further education, vocational training, or careers in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in Building and Construction in line with the curriculum and school standards.
- Provide practical training in construction skills such as masonry, carpentry, joinery, roofing, and finishing.
- Guide students in project-based learning and hands-on workshops.
- Assess, record, and report student progress through tests, assignments, and practical evaluations.
- Integrate safety protocols and promote adherence to occupational health and safety standards in workshops.
- Prepare learners for both internal and external examinations.
- Mentor students in career pathways related to construction, vocational training, and entrepreneurship.
- Maintain and manage workshop tools, equipment, and materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality in technical education delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Education with a specialization in Building and Construction OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Building Technology or related field.
- MUST registered with TSC.
- Strong knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and current industry practices.
- Practical workshop experience with building tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Good communication, instructional, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students in technical and vocational skills.

- Workshop Management – Safe and effective use of workshop tools and facilities with minimal or zero incidents.
- Project Completion – Successful execution of at least 2 practical projects per academic year.
- Examination Performance – Achieve above-average performance in internal and external exams.
- Student Career Readiness – Evidence of graduates transitioning into vocational training, apprenticeships, or construction-related careers.
- Professional Development – Attend at least one technical/educational training or workshop annually.
- Student Engagement – Achieve at least 80% participation rate in class and workshop sessions.
