Job Description

Responsibilities:

  1. Receive guests and visitors into the hotel
  2. Determines guest's reservation status and identifies how long the guest will stay.
  3. Helps guest’s complete registration cards and then assigns rooms; accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  4. Verifies the guest's method of payment and follows established credit-checking procedures.
  5. Files guest and room information in the designated places.
  6. Works closely with the housekeeping department in the keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work. 
  7. Maintains guest room keys, documents, and personal items when required
  8. Receive all company correspondences are redirect them as required.
  9. Must be sales-minded; presents options and alternatives to guests and helps in making choices. 
  10. Knows the location, types and characteristics of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property
  11. Receives telephone food orders and passes the same to the restaurant.
  12. Transfers phones and email communication to relevant staff
  13. Ensures safe use of all facilities e.g. pool, play areas, parking spaces, etc
  14. Translates timings, safety procedures and all pertinent information to guests and fellow staff
  15. Performs simple accounting tasks
  16. Directs guests to relevant services or delegates to a competent staff
  17. Follow check-in and check-out procedures, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  18. Thoroughly understand and adheres to proper credit card and cash handling policies and procedures.
  19. Remain abreast with the types of rooms available, and current room rates.
  20. Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services at the camp.
  21. Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying them of all late checkouts, early check-ins requests, special requests, and here & waiting cases.
  22. Take daily reservations and future reservations accurately and updates the system in real time.
  23. To follow the company’s cancellation procedures and can at any time translate the same to guests.
  24. Informs guests of upcoming specials and loyalty program.
  25. To manage the gift shop stocks and sales accurately
  26. To use proper mail, package, and message handling procedures.
  27. To maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk and lobby areas.
  28. Any other duty as assigned from time to time.

 

Qaulifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Front Office operations.
  • At least 6 month experience.
