Are you a skilled and motivated HR professional with a background in hospitality? A leading international-brand hotel in Nairobi is seeking to hire a dynamic and proactive Assistant Human Resources Manager to support its people function and help drive organizational excellence.
Major Function:
As the Assistant HR Manager, you will support in overseeing all HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, payroll, training & development, and staff welfare. You’ll ensure HR strategies are aligned with hotel goals and compliant with Kenyan labour laws, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee training programs.
- Promote effective employee relations and handle grievances and disciplinary issues.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and internal HR policies.
- Oversee HR documentation, employee records, and HRIS systems.
- Assist in payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Monitor performance management and succession planning processes.
- Lead internal staff communication and engagement initiatives.
- Provide guidance to department heads on HR procedures and employee issues.
- Prepare HR reports and contribute to budgeting and workforce planning.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an HR Supervisor in a hotel, or 1 year as Assistant HR Manager.
- In-depth knowledge of Kenya Labour Law.
- Proven experience in training and staff development.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in payroll systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with an international hotel chain will be an added advantage.
