JOB TITLE: OPERATIONS MANAGER – FISH CAGE FARMING

Location: Uganda

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our fish cage farming project in Uganda. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing operations in the fish cage farming industry, particularly in Egypt. This role will oversee all aspects of farm management, including production, monitoring, team management, and strategic planning to ensure the success and sustainability of our fish farming operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage day-to-day operations of the fish cage farm, ensuring efficient production processes.

- Supervise a team of farm workers, ensuring safety protocols and best practices are adhered to.

- Oversee the stocking, feeding, health management, and harvesting of fish.

- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations concerning fish farming.

- Develop and implement strategies to optimize farm performance and increase profitability.

- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to farm operations.

- Monitor and manage the farm's budget, inventory, and resources to maximize efficiency.

- Coordinate with the management team on strategic decisions and long-term planning.

- Prepare and submit regular reports on farm performance, production, and financial outcomes.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Agriculture, or a related field.

- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in fish cage farming operations, with at least 3 years of experience working in Egypt.

- Strong understanding of fish farming techniques, including cage design, stocking, feeding, and disease management.

- Proven leadership and team management skills in a similar environment.

- Solid understanding of water quality management, environmental regulations, and sustainable farming practices.

- Ability to troubleshoot and solve operational challenges efficiently.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and farm management software.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Willingness to relocate to Uganda and work in a remote farming environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working in the East African fish farming market or with projects related to aquaculture in Africa.

- Knowledge of local regulations and environmental standards in Uganda is a plus.
