Job Purpose

To safely and efficiently transport animal feeds, raw materials, packaging materials and other company products to designated destinations while ensuring timely deliveries, proper handling of goods and compliance with road safety and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive company trucks safely and responsibly while observing all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
• Transport animal feeds and other company goods to customers, distributors, branches and other designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
• Ensure animal feeds and other goods are properly loaded, secured and delivered without damage or loss.
• Verify delivery documents, invoices, delivery notes and quantities before and after each trip.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel usage, mileage, deliveries and vehicle maintenance.
• Report vehicle breakdowns, mechanical faults, accidents, damages or other incidents promptly to the supervisor.
• Ensure the truck is kept clean and properly maintained at all times.
• Assist with loading and offloading of animal feeds where required and ensure proper handling of products.
• Plan routes effectively to ensure timely and cost-efficient deliveries.
• Maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers and other road users.
• Ensure all company property, goods and documents entrusted to the driver are properly safeguarded.
• Comply with company policies, transport procedures, occupational safety requirements and lawful instructions from supervisors.
• Perform any other duties related to transport and logistics as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• KCSE certificate or above.
• Valid and appropriate Driving Licence (DL) for the truck category being driven.
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a truck/heavy commercial vehicle driver.
• Age: 25–40 years.
• Good knowledge of Kenyan roads and major routes specifically Central Kenya.
• Good understanding of road safety and defensive driving practices.
• Ability to maintain basic vehicle and trip records.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and able to assist with loading and offloading when required.
• Demonstrated ability to handle goods responsibly and deliver them on time.
• Experience in animal feeds, agricultural products, FMCG or other goods distribution will be an added advantage.
