Job Title: Sales & Marketing Officer – Animal Feeds

Job Purpose
The Sales & Marketing Officer is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and building brand awareness for animal feed products. This role involves executed route-to-market strategies, managing agrovet and distributor networks, conducting direct-to-farm technical sales, and delivering market intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Territory Management: Execute daily sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual volume and revenue targets. Map out and grow assigned sales territories across distributor networks, agrovets, commercial farms, and co-operatives.
Business Development & Lead Generation: Identify, onboard, and retain new distributors, stockists, and large-scale livestock/poultry/dairy farmers.
Technical Product Advisory: Provide basic on-farm technical advice on animal nutrition, feeding programs, and feed conversion ratios (FCR) to build product trust and drive pull-through demand.
Brand Activation & Field Marketing: Plan and execute trade promotions, field days, farmer training workshops, and agricultural exhibitions to boost product visibility.
Distributor & Credit Management: Monitor stock levels at agrovet/distributor outlets, coordinate order deliveries, and support timely debt collections in line with company credit policies.
Market Intelligence & Reporting: Gather real-time intelligence on competitor pricing, new product launches, raw material trends, and customer feedback. Submit regular route reports and pipeline updates.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Animal Production, Animal Science, Sales & Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 2–4 years of proven field sales experience in animal feeds, feed additives, or agricultural inputs.
Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of livestock production (poultry, dairy, swine), feed formulation principles, and local agro-distribution networks.
Licensing & Mobility: Valid driving/riding license and willingness to travel extensively within assigned rural and semi-urban routes.
Key Competencies & Skills
Strong negotiation, route-planning, and relationship-management skills.
Ability to translate technical nutritional concepts into practical benefits for farmers.
Self-driven, target-oriented, and resilient in a competitive field environment.
Proficiency in CRM tools, basic data entry, and order processing applications.
