Position Overview

The Mathematics/Chemistry Teacher will facilitate learning by guiding students to acquire competencies, skills, and values as outlined in the CBC framework. The role emphasizes learner-centered pedagogy, practical application of knowledge, and holistic development.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Mathematics and Chemistry aligned with CBC requirements.

• Competency Development: Foster problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among learners.

• Assessment: Design and administer formative and summative assessments that measure competencies rather than rote knowledge.

• Practical Learning: Incorporate experiments, projects, and real-life applications to enhance understanding.

• Learner Support: Provide individualized guidance, mentorship, and remedial support where necessary.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of learner progress, portfolios, and performance reports.

• Collaboration: Work with colleagues, parents, and the community to support holistic learner development.

• Professional Growth: Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated on CBC methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) with specialization in Mathematics and Chemistry, or equivalent.

• Training in CBC pedagogy and assessment strategies.

• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

• Strong communication, mentorship, and classroom management skills.
